In the increasingly strange case of John Edwards and his once-secret mistress, Rielle Hunter it’s now being suggested that John’s wife, Elizabeth is taking pot-shots at Rielle through a vindictive blog for which she assumes a fake name.
With a Grand Jury already investigating whether he used campaign funds to keep Rielle quiet, John, 51, is said to be finally ready to admit the child truly is his. Rielle and her daughter, Quinn are also moving from their home in New Jersey to North Carolina, where the Edwards have a beach-house.
But Elizabeth is said to have strongly resisted the move, and is now sniping at Rielle through an undeclared blog which she writes under the pen-name of ‘Cherubim.’

Actress Jaime Pressly has married entertainment lawyer Simran Singh in front of family and friends in Malibu, her rep confirms to People. The My Name Is Earl star let the news slip she was engaged back in July, as she checked into the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego Thursday with her beau.  Pressly was previously engaged until this past November to longtime boyfriend Eric Cubiche, with whom she has a two year old son Dezi.

After ten months of denials and self-serving teasing, sources believe Madonna is finally ready to wed Jesus Luz. The odd couple met in Rio de Janeiro, where Jesus was hired for one of Madge’s photoshoots. For reasons unknown they just started kissing. The 51-year old singer is now said to be crazy about her Brazilian toy-boy, and is supposedly planning a marriage by the end of the year.

Another cougar, that’s totally got game is Mary-Louise Parker (R) who apparently has musician Charlie Mars under her spell. Mars, 35, who is ten years Parker’s junior, is a Mississippi-born singer and songwriter. The couple reportedly were inseparable while they were attending the Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 20, and according to several sources, the twosome has been dating since early June this year. Parker actually is a fan of Charlie Mars, which may have sparked their romance. Last year, she appeared in the video for “Listen to the Darkside”, the first single off his record “Like a Bird, Like a Plane”, People Magazine reports. Parker famously dated actor Billy Crudup, who fathered her 5-year-old son William Atticus Parker before a famous infidelity broke them up. After being considered a fugitive by the U.S. government since 1978, Roman Polanski has been detained in Zurich on charges of unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl, 31 years later. Polanski, a holocaust survivor, has lived for the past three decades in France, where his career has continued to flourish.  The Chinatown and Rosemary’s Baby director won an Oscar  in absentia for The Pianist in 2002 and was in Zurich to receive a lifetime achievement award when he was detained by Swiss police at the request of U.S. authorities. Festival organizers said Polanski’s detention had caused “shock and dismay,” but that they would go ahead with Sunday’s planned retrospective of the director’s work.

 In further, and wholly superfluous testimony that ‘Reality’  TV is anything but, it’s been announced that former Playmate, Holly Madison is to get her own show.

The 30-year old former model,who got her ‘break’ when one of Hugh Hefner’s friends saw her working as a Sun-tan oil model and invited her to join a bash at Heff’s mansion, will start filming her new show, ‘Planet Holly’ in Las Vegas [where else?] on October 12th.

“It will have some docu-drama, but it’s the perfect excuse for me to be normal in a light-hearted comedy,” Holly told Contact. “The show will also have an empowering message for women, showing that, however crazy your ideas, they can be achieved.” she gushed.

And being born in darkest Oregon, Holly should know. “I had crazy dreams. I’d see Pamela Anderson or Jenny McCarthy on TV and dream of being a sex symbol and a showgirl in Las Vegas – and it all came true!”

And even though she’s now starring as ‘Bo Peep’ in the nudie review show, “Peepshow” Holly does not seem quite ready to let this get her down, “Just because I’ve wound up in ‘Peepshow,’ I’m not stopping,” she told the scribes. “I’ve set myself five more things to achieve and I will never stop setting new goals because I’m having fun.”

So, she sets herself goals for success which result in the questionable distinction of a skin-show in Vegas, and now she wants to encourage other women to be just like her.

We reported a few weeks ago that Eric Dane and his wife, Rebecca Gayheart had made a rather…er, ‘interesting’ tape which got leaked on the ‘net. Well, the pair are still feigning offense and have decided to sue to extend the attention.

Eric – previously best known as ‘Dr. McSteamy’ in ABC’s ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ – and Rebecca are claiming that Gawker, the blog that first published the tape, has infringed their copyright and they want $1-million…or else.

In the new lawsuit, Marty Singer, Eric’s attorney, says that Gawker was warned about outing the tape, and that such publication would violate his client’s intellectual and privacy rights, but that the site then, “went on to maliciously distribute an uncensored copy” of this very mild tape; Eric, 36, and Becky, 38, briefly appear naked in the 12-minute tape, and also seem to be smoking an unknown preparation. Other than that, it’s ‘PG’ at best.

As for Gawker’s reaction, they don’t seem too stressed; According to People, Nick Denton, the publisher responded via Twitter “To quote the great Marty Singer” he tweeted, “‘If you don’t want a sex tape on the internet, don’t make one!’”

Jude Law has become a father for the fourth time, two months after acknowledging that a model was pregnant with his child. Law met and had a brief romance with Samantha Burke in 2008 when he was filming ‘Sherlock Holmes’ in New York City. Burke, who was due on Oct. 6, welcomed her daughter Sophia into the world on Tuesday night. Law, who is currently starring in previews for a Broadway production of Hamlet, vowed to stand by Burke and help to raise the child, but was reportedly not present for the birth. However last month it was reported that he would demand a DNA test to determine whether he was the father of Miss Burke’s baby. It came amid reports he had fallen out with Miss Burke’s family, with the 24-year-old’s grandmother Delores Burke, 80, claiming he had “behaved as less than a gentleman”.  Law, 36,  has three other children with ex-wife Sadie Frost.

When Baywatch faded out in 1997, Pamela Anderson was at the top of her game – she was beautiful, rich and the world knew her name.

How times have changed.

The 42-year old ex-Playboy model is now being sued for more than $1.2-million by numerous construction companies for work on her Malibu home.

In June, Jay Bruder, who owns one of the firms, filed a $675,000 lien against Pam to recover the costs of ‘labor, materials and subcontractors’ for remodeling her five-bedroom house, and creating foundations for a guest house. “A lot of people are owed a great deal of money,” he told the Star.

Records also show Pam owes $252,360 in unpaid income tax, backdated to 2007.

This doesn’t look good. Pam’s had no serious work since 2006, and although she’s about to open a movie ‘Hollywood & Wine,’ she’s surrounded in that by some serious C-list… so that may not help.

The girl needs either a sit-com or a miracle. Let’s hope she finds at least one…And fast.

Many less fabulous gossip sites are falling over themselves with the story that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are about to go public and confess they’re in love.

The word is that Rob and Kris are apparently going to [finally] cut out the self-serving, mind-numbing hype and admit they’re a pair in a long-winded interview for December’s edition of Harper’s Bazaar.

BUT…

While so-called “Insiders” have told Pop Crunch and others that this “tell-all” chit-chat will confirm that the pair are a couple for real, a Harper’s employee who was at the August 20th shoot for the mag in Vancouver says, “Rob and Kristen were relatively open about their relationship.”

But she made it quite clear that nowhere in the sprawling, main feature story do they ever discuss being an actual couple.

Bear in mind that ‘Twilight: New Moon’ is due to open November 20th – about the same time as this Harper’s will bow. So if you’re looking for a word to describe all this romantic buzz, ‘Hype.’ fits quite well.

This ‘leak’ will sells stacks of mags, and fills loads of seats. And that is quite clearly what it was invented to do…

In what has all the hallmarks of sad, self-serving scandal, Lily Allen is claiming she’s done making music.

The lead singer of ‘Smile’ made the clam on her blog, confirming that she has no plans to release a new album, or ever tour again. “I have not renegotiated my record contract and have no plans to make another record.” she writes. “The days of me making money from music have been and gone. I do however remain a fan of new music, so this is not some selfish crusade.”

She plans instead to focus on life in the theatre, and is about to open a new play in London called ‘Reasons to be Pretty’, about a group of everyday people who are bored with their lives,  according the UK newspaper, The Sun.

And here comes how you know this could all be just hype:

Her announcement of quitting came out yesterday. Today, her rep is insisting that Lily’s career in music is still alive, “She is not quitting pop music and is still promoting her current album, which is why she said she is not thinking about another record.”

Is it me, or do you smell bull…manure?

This is not even the first time Lily’s claimed that she’s done. Last month she told her six fans on Twitter that, “I’m not going record or tour again for quite a while. I finish up my dates in March and I’ll be ready to do something new.”

So she’s got new album out, a tour that’s ongoing, and a play due to open. Do you think these things might see extra sales if she announces she’s ‘quitting’ and gets loads of free press?

With the Fantastic Four, X-Men and the endless Spider-Man sequels, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the Hollywood suits are obsessed with movies inspired by their ongoing childhood. Well, here comes one more!… ‘The Avengers’ is Marvel Comics’ somewhat novel way to combine all their heroes in one epic tale. A movie in which Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and others all unite to fight crime is now in pre-production, and the Hulk is currently planned to be there as well. The prospect of such a cast-list is making comic-geeks drool, and Edward Norton, who plays the Hulk’s alter-ego, Bruce Banner, knows just why they care. MTV asked him if he can see himself in that film? “Oh, yeah!” he replied without pause. “The thing about Marvel’s universe is that it all cross-pollinates. Even when I was working on ‘The Incredible Hulk,’ I tried to add the ‘Super-Soldier’ serum from Captain America.” The current plan for the film, so we’re told, is to have The Hulk be involved as the movie’s main villain. And Edward believes that would work, “He kind of always was. There was always a tension between all the superheroes, and he was always the problem,” the 40-year old actor explained. “I think that’s a fun way to go with it.” Already nominated for two Oscars [1997, for 'Primal Fear,' and in 1999 for 'American History,'] this is the first time Edward has shared his opinions on the upcoming film. But he told MTV this past reluctance was just a scheduling thing, “I just get very busy,” he explained. “I keep my head in the thing I’m doing and not worry about what two or three blocks down is going to be. I know all these things will work out…or not.” Directed by Jon Favreau, [Iron Man 1 and 2] and starring a positive who’s-who of all-action stars – Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Samuel L. Jackson – and even Lou Ferrigno is rumored – ‘Avengers’ is due to bow May 4th, 2012.

KIRSTEN DUNST - DUNST AND PEGG TESTIFY IN THEFT TRIAL

 

KIRSTEN DUNST and SIMON PEGG were in court on Thursday (24Sep09) to testify against a second man accused of stealing the stars' possessions from a hotel room in August 2007. Jarrod Beinerman, 34, was sentenced to four and a half years in jail last September (08) after confessing to illegally entering a suite at New York's SoHo Grand and taking a number of items, including the actress' designer handbag. His alleged accomplice in the burglary, James Jimenez, is now on trial and faces up to 15 years behind bars if convicted of the crime. Dunst told jurors at the State Supreme Court in Manhattan how she and Pegg had discovered their belongings were snatched from the room shortly after filming the final scenes of their movie How to Lose Friends and Alienate People. She recalled, "It was our last night of filming, so we were celebrating... It was probably a $2,000 purse. My purse had $2,000 in it, a pair of sunglasses, my wallet with all my credit cards."
Pegg, whose iPod and camera were taken, later took to the stand and explained, "It dawns on you slowly because, obviously, you don't want to think that happened." A member of the film crew, Henry MACkintosh, told the court that the suspects pretended to be maintenance men to gain entry. He said, "They said they were from engineering and they'd come to fix a drain. I said we hadn't asked for engineering to come up." The trial continues.

Nearly 40 years after breaking up, The Beatles are still breaking records for album sales.EMI Group PLC says consumers in North America, Japan and the U.K. bought more than 2.25 million copies of the Fab Four's re-mastered albums in the first five days after their Sept. 9 release.Most of the records were broken for most simultaneous titles in the top-selling charts by a single artist.On Billboard magazine's pop catalog chart, for example, the band had 16 titles in the top 50, including all 14 re-mastered CDs and two box sets.

“Daisy was her baby,” one friend told People. “It’s going to put her into the worst place ever.” But another source was more hopeful, “She’s really upset, but she’s not spiraling out of control,” they said sagely. “It’s like losing a family member, but she’s focusing on work and her family and friends.”

Daisy was a gift from ex-husband, Nick Lachey in 2004, and the caramel-shaded canine soon shared a deep bond. Last week, a coyote snatched Daisy from right in front of a mortified Jessica, and despite rewards and posters she’s not been seen since.

In documents that have just been unsealed regarding the premature death of actress and model, Anna Nicole Smith back in 2007, it seems those responsible for prescribing the pills that eventually killed her were well aware of the risks. The Huffington Post is reporting that a Los Angeles pharmacist warned Ms. Smith’s internist that the drugs they were prescribing for the 39-year old star were “pharmaceutical suicide,” according to the evidence that has now emerged. The papers, released as part of an investigation into who is truly to blame for her untimely death, confirm that Anna Nicole’s doctor, Khristine Eroshevich and her internist, Sandeep Kapoor were warned by no less than three different pharmacists about the mixture of drugs, and the risks such a blend would inflict on their patient – yet nothing was done.

The two physicians, together with Howard K. Stern, who was both Anna’s boyfriend and her Attorney, all pleaded not guilty in May to conspiring to illegally supply controlled substances. A preliminary hearing is now scheduled for early next month and prosecutors have confirmed they plan to call both Anna’s bodyguard and Larry Birkhead, the father of Anna’s beloved daughter, Dannielynn, as State witnesses to further their case.

The papers on which this legal action will largely depend reveal that Anna’s first request for the drugs occurred on September 15th of 2006 – five days after her son, Daniel died. The order was for two types of sedative, 300 tablets of methadone, a muscle relaxant, an anti-inflammatory drug and four bottles of a very strong painkiller.

These same papers also prove that the Doctors who approved and supplied such a lethal concoction also breached their professional ethics by having sex with their patient. Attorneys for the physicians have not, so far returned calls to confirm this or comment, but the proof is contained in these papers, so the case seems quite clear.

Anna died, alone and despairing in room 607 of the Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood, Florida on February 8th, 2007.

A full three-months before the first film even opens, Warner Brothers are already so in love with the content, they have ordered a sequel – whether we even want one or not.The first movie, ‘Holmes’ is a re-telling of the life of that timeless detective, played with his usual gusto by Robert Downey Jr. And the role of his invaluable aid, Dr. Watson has been left in the care of the splendid Jude Law. In the newly announced second chapter, the pair will be joined by no less than Brad Pitt as the criminal genius, and Holmes’ mortal enemy, Professor James Moriarty. No deal has been signed yet, but he looks pretty sure.

As you might expect, even the prospect of Brad in a movie causes hundreds of blogs to erupt with false rumors, and this film has been no exception. One rumor insisted he can also be seen in Holmes, chapter one – but those involved with production have told the Hollywood Reporter that the character is just shown in shadow and no face can be seen – So it’s clearly not him.

Reliable sources close to the actor have confirmed that John Travolta will travel to the Bahamas this week to take part in the trial of two dim-bulbs who allegedly attempted to extort $25-million from him and his family after the death of his son on January 2nd. The Actor’s upcoming testimony in the case against paramedic, Tarino Lightbourne and former Bahamian Senator, Pleasant Bridgewater is expected to inflict huge and irreparable damage to the defendant’s case and be the dramatic highpoint of what is already set to be an emotionally loaded proceedings.

 Patrick Swayze, the hunky actor who danced his way into viewers' hearts with "Dirty Dancing" and then broke them with "Ghost," died Monday after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 57.

"Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months," said a statement released Monday evening by his publicist, Annett Wolf. No other details were given.

Fans of the actor were saddened to learn in March 2008 that Swayze was suffering from a particularly deadly form of cancer.

He had kept working despite the diagnosis, putting together a memoir with his wife and shooting "The Beast," an A&E drama series for which he had already made the pilot. It drew a respectable 1.3 million viewers when the 13 episodes ran in 2009, but A&E said it had reluctantly decided not to renew it for a second season.
